I live in the ghost town of Fondis, CO. My current art consists of small ceramic sculptures,
as well as some large outdoor welded pieces and watercolors. My Goddess Spheres and Eggs are cast ceramic shapes that are painted with underglaze using designs inspired by Anasazi pots. These abstracted images are so common in our culture, that I did not consciously see them as female fertility symbols until I saw them in a book on images of the goddess. Symbols of circles, eggs, spirals, mazes, rain, water, flowers, and leaves tessalate in repeating patterns. When I'm creating these objects, sometimes the symbolism is conscious, sometimes it is not. |

My art education consists of three degrees; a BFA in Painting & Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University, an MA from Eastern Washington University in Art & Adult Education, and an MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in Sculpture. I then did large sculpture installations for 15 years in co-op galleries in Denver. |
