Being a native of western North Carolina, I feel that my subconscious is finely tuned to the gentle rhythms of nature. After living in diverse environments, I feel most comfortable in northern New Mexico, surrounded by a dynamic landscape and the many moods of Mother Nature, where I feel a strong connection to the spiritual.

I aspire to express that spiritual connection to the environment in all my work whether sculpting or painting. Consequently, when working in three dimensions I express the physical effects of nature upon the subject, creating a relationship between that which is invisible but sensed and the tangible, thus incorporating a mental concept into a spiritual and physical experience. I hope that my work will enable the viewer to sense a higher connection to that which is spiritual in our environment and appreciate the legacy and responsibility that has been given to us as caretakers.
